Conducting research on dolphins and porpoises is the first important step towards protecting them and their ecological habitats. HKDCS has been extensively involved in a number of research projects in Hong Kong and in the Greater China regions. Through these extensive research initiatives, HKDCS aims to improve the overall knowledge of coastal cetaceans in these areas. We welcome any enquiries from the general public and media on our research projects. For more details, please contact us at info@hkdcs.org

In this section, find out more about the research projects HKDCS have supported and how HKDCS researchers conduct studies to understand the daily lives of local Chinese white dolphins and finless porpoises. Here you can also learn more about our Research Internship Programme and University Student Programme, which provide ample opportunities for students to get involved in local cetacean research and conservation works.
